Russian media & Mistrals, 1st of April epic fail

Sputnik article about Mistrals delivery to EU. Removed for he website, captured in "cache".

"France to sell Mistral warships to EU". Before everybody gets excited by this news published by the EUObserver: NO, the Mistral are not to be integrated in the EU fleet under the names of "Junker" and "Mogherini". This is obviously an 1st of April fools Joke.

"France to sell Mistral warships to EU".
If you read the news until the end, It's supposed to be docked in Luxembourg... which has no access to the sea. Erm...  And there is nothing such as a "Benelux Battle Group".
Russian media that never check anything bought it the April's fool joke from this morning as wrote "Le Monde".

"Russian news agencies RIA Novosti, Tass, RT, and Interfax published reports today that one of Mistral-class helicopter carriers built in France for Russia would be transferred to the European Union. The source for this information—an April Fools’ Day joke that Russian media mistook for real news—was the online newspaper EU Observer, which claimed to have learned of the transfer from Federica Mogherini, the EU’s foreign policy chief."
Not in the above article but you can add that sputnik news bought it too but the removed their article, still available in the google cache: http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search…
How can those media pretend to be reliable after that? not even ONE french media believed this news and I don't think any other in any country.
Russian media is rubbish, we all knew it but this is just awesome, believing in such an Aprils' fool.

ADDENDUM:

See how Latvia reported this case:

BBN (Baltic News Network) April 1, 2015 Russian media fall for a joke article about relocation of Mistral ships to Latvia

A number of large Russian media outlets have taken seriously a joke article written by EUObserver specifically for April Fools’ Day in which France allegedly plans to supply one of the Mistral ships to Latvia.

RIA Novosti, TASS, Interfax and Sputnik have all republished this article as actual news.

Shortly after, the news was called off. The reason is that EU diplomats had explained to Russian journalists that that particular article published by EUObserver was an April Fools’ joke.

In this article, EUObserver wrote that Russia’s Mistral-class ship would be relocated to Latvia in order to help protect the Baltic region from Russia’s threats. On top of that, the ship would be renamed as Junker, in honour of EC President Jean Claude Junker.

‘Junker’ was to be transported to the politician’s homeland of Luxembourg, even though it does not have access to any sea, EUObserver wrote in the joke article.
