Russian Marines Permanently On Board Of The Mistral "Vladivostok"?

According to Russia’s Gazeta.ru news website, dozens of Russian marines, together with officers and sailors from the country’s Pacific and Baltic Fleets, currently remain on board the warship, the website says, quoting a representative of the General Staff without disclosing his name.

The marines arrived at the “Vladivostok” warship back in September and were supposed to depart for Russia right after the delivery of the vessel. One of the Russians on board the Mistral-class carrier declared
“We are fine; we lack neither food nor money. However, it looks like we are going to celebrate New Year here, although nobody knows for sure,”
but refused to discuss if there is any weaponry on board and whether they are allowed to use it if the situation gets worse.

Former Russian naval commander Vladimir Masorin said the infantry came on board to protect it from attacks during the transitional period.

Constantin Sivkov, senior vice president of the Academy of Geopolitical Problems, told "Gazeta.ru" that Marines are now operating the role of the military police on the warship: maintain order on board, protect against penetration and provide anti-sabotage defense. If France does not transfer the Mistral, they will have to get off the ship, get on a plane, or on another ship, or train, or on foot - as you like - and get to Russia ", - said Sivkov.

As a reminder, in October, the russian sailors were forbidden to board the Mistral in fear that they would take possession of the war ship permanently.

UPDATE: 12/15/2014, 12:06 GMT:

According to the Russian media Sputnik, A high ranking official of the Russia’s Navy denied the news:
“The warship has not been handed over to Russia yet. The crew does not stay on board of Mistral carrier but stays on board of “Smolny” ship. The access control system is under control of the Saint Nazaire dockyard. That is why the whole report is an extraordinary invention,”
a source in the Russian Navy told RIA Novosti on Monday. However, Sputnik did not disclose the name ot he "high ranking official" making the news impossible to be checked.
